Buying bite resistant clothing for a school, healthcare service or care team starts with the work your staff do. This guide helps administrators and managers prepare a useful brief, compare coverage and organise a team quotation. Product selection should follow your organisation’s assessment of the tasks and risks; ask BitePRO® for help with specific product questions.
1. Agree what each role needs
Speak with the staff who will wear the clothing. Record the tasks they perform, the areas that need coverage and any practical requirements such as finger movement or clothing worn underneath. Different roles may need different products; one model or size may not suit the whole team.
Use our special education and healthcare pages to explore the range in your setting. Protective clothing is one part of your organisation’s wider staff-safety arrangements.
2. Compare coverage, fit and pack quantity
- Arms and hands: use the six-model arm-guard comparison to compare forearm, hand and full-arm coverage. Check whether the selected product is supplied individually or as a pair before calculating quantities.
- Gloves: compare short, long and fingerless designs. Fingerless gloves leave the fingers exposed. Discuss the balance between coverage and the dexterity needed for each task.
- More coverage: compare the upper-body range where a separate arm guard does not cover the required area. Ask the team how products can be worn together for your tasks.
Check the current specification, size guide and care instructions on each product page. Measure each wearer using that product’s guide, rather than assuming that their usual clothing size will transfer between models.
3. Prepare a team-order brief
Have the following information ready when you contact us. You can copy this list into your own purchasing notes:
- Organisation and setting: school, district, healthcare service or care organisation, plus delivery country.
- Staff and roles: how many people need equipment and which tasks they carry out.
- Coverage and shortlist: the body areas to cover and any products you are considering.
- Sizes and quantities: quantities by model and size, checked against the product’s pack quantity.
- Trial questions: what you need to assess before deciding on a wider order.
- Purchasing requirements: your intended order date and any quotation, purchase-order or supplier-onboarding requirements.
Keep the brief focused on staff tasks and product requirements. There is no need to include the names or personal details of pupils, patients or people receiving care.
4. Discuss a trial before a wider order
If you are considering a product trial, speak with the BitePRO® team first about the appropriate products and arrangements. Ask wearers to record feedback on fit, coverage during normal tasks, comfort, movement and care. Use that feedback to refine the models and sizes before deciding on a larger order.
Trial availability, costs and terms need to be agreed with the team. A trial does not replace your organisation’s risk assessment or the product instructions.
5. Request a quote or complete your order
Still choosing? Discuss your team requirements with BitePRO®. Share the brief above so our team can help you compare suitable options.
Know the products you need? Select the size and quantity on each product page and choose “Add to Quote”. Then open your quote list to send the request. Products need to be added before the quote form appears. Alternatively, use the product page’s normal purchase route when you are ready to order.
Before approving a quotation, confirm the models, sizes, pack quantities, delivery details, applicable charges and expected timescale. US organisations can also read our US procurement information and discuss any purchasing requirements with the team.
After the order, keep a record of the model, size and quantity issued to each staff role, alongside the relevant care instructions. Use that record when reviewing fit, equipping new staff or discussing reorders; check current product information again before repeating an order.
